Product Overview

  • Choose a compatible recording channel

Match the BNC input to the camera’s output format and resolution.

What’s included and what’s sold separately

Get more detail from an existing coaxial camera run

The ACTi Y32 is a 5 MP outdoor analog bullet camera with a fixed 2.8 mm lens and a 102.2° horizontal view. Choose it for a wide entrance or side yard when your recorder supports the camera’s output format and you want to use an existing BNC cable run.

Choose the output your DVR can record

The BNC connection supports TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS. For 5 MP capture, verify the recorder’s supported resolution and frame rate for the selected mode. The camera outputs up to 20 fps at 2592 × 1944 in TVI or AHD, or 25 fps at 2880 × 1620 in CVI. CVBS uses standard definition.

Cover a wide approach after dark

The fixed lens frames a broad section of the approach. Infrared illuminates up to 30 m (98 ft), and 130 dB wide dynamic range helps when the camera looks from shade toward a bright driveway or door.

Plan the coax and power runs

Use a compatible BNC video cable and DVR input, plus separate 12 V DC power through a 2.1 × 5.5 mm jack. Confirm the power source and recorder mode before mounting, and protect the cable connections from weather.

What is included?

This offer is for one ACTi Y32 camera with its integrated 2.8 mm lens. The 12 V DC power adapter, coaxial cable and recorder are separate purchases.

Key specifications

  • 5 MP analog video with BNC output.
  • Fixed 2.8 mm F2.0 lens and 102.2° horizontal view.

  • 12 V DC power. Rated consumption 3.6 W.
  • IP68 weatherproof camera housing.

Can I plug it into a PoE switch?

Connect the camera to a compatible DVR with BNC coax and supply 12 V DC power separately.

WHY THIS CAMERA

Get more detail from a suitable coax run

At a loading entrance or a side yard, the 102.2° fixed view gives you room to include the approach and the threshold. Match the recorder mode first so that recorded footage retains the detail you need.

Upgrade a wall position to 5 MP

Use a sound BNC coax run and a DVR channel that records the chosen analog HD mode. Keep separate 12 V power at the camera.

Balance bright yards and shaded doors

The 130 dB wide dynamic range helps balance an exterior approach with a shaded loading entrance.

Keep the approach in view after dark

Infrared is rated up to 98 ft (30 m). Aim so close walls and awnings stay clear of the beam.

COAX, POWER AND RECORDING

Connect and record the Y32

Run BNC coax to the DVR and use a separate 12 V DC adapter with a 2.1 × 5.5 mm plug at the camera. Set the camera and DVR to a compatible video mode.

  1. Y32 camera Sends the selected analog video format over coax.
  2. BNC coax and 12 V power Run BNC coax to the DVR and use a separate 12 V DC adapter with a 2.1 × 5.5 mm plug at the camera.
  3. Local recorder Choose a BNC input that records your signal at the required resolution.
  4. Playback and retention Play back a saved clip and set the recording schedule and retention on the installed drive.

Choose the recording mode before mounting

For 5 MP over TVI or AHD, the YVR-120 supports up to 20 fps and the YVR-121 up to 12 fps. The YVR-121 supports CVI up to 1080p.

Use the lighting mode for the site

IR illumination is rated up to 30 m (about 98 ft). Aim to limit reflections from nearby surfaces.

Know the camera’s 5 MP outputs

TVI or AHD carries 2592 × 1944 at up to 20 fps. CVI carries 2880 × 1620 at up to 25 fps. Match the DVR’s exact accepted mode. CVBS provides standard definition for compatible older inputs.

Control where the camera points

Set the fixed 102.2° view at installation. Review light, motion and the areas you want to capture before securing the mount.

Reference DORI distances (detection, observation, recognition and identification) are 184 / 74 / 37 / 18 ft. Actual detail depends on lighting and placement.

INSTALLATION GUIDANCE

Mount the bullet on a wall and protect the BNC connection

Choose a solid wall location, aim along the approach and allow enough space for the BNC and 12 V connections.

  1. Frame the area that matters

Attach the integrated bracket to a stable wall. Route the cable through the wall or along its surface. Confirm the view and cable entry before drilling.

  2. Connect camera power

    A suitable 12V DC adapter with a 2.1 × 5.5 mm plug. The rated camera draw is 3.6 W via 12V DC.

  3. Protect the cable path

Use the optional PMAX-0724 if you need space to enclose the connections. Protect the BNC and separate DC plug outdoors. Test video and playback before closing the junction.

  4. Verify recording and playback

Test the exact video mode in live view and save a short clip. Check playback before closing the cable route.

PUT IT TO WORK

Check the fit before you order

Choose the Y32 for a wall-mounted 5 MP coax upgrade. Check the free channel’s supported signal and resolution before ordering.

You already have a recording system

Reuse sound BNC coax if the free DVR channel supports the selected signal and resolution. Check the separate 12 V supply.

You want a new local recorder

Count compatible BNC channels in hybrid mode, then choose the drive capacity for your retention target. The recorder and drive are sold separately.

Choose the mount for the surface

Available mounting options include PMAX-0724 junction box. For a 2.64–5 in. vertical pole, use the PMAX-0538 with the PMAX-0724. See the Add-ons section for the separately sold parts.
