AT A GLANCE

Product Overview

Keep the camera at your entrance on coax and add an IP camera for a new view. Both record to the same drive, and synchronized playback lets you see what happened across up to eight cameras at once.

  • Keep your coax cameras

Eight BNC inputs support TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS cameras. Match each camera’s output to the format and frame rates in the specifications below.

  • Add network cameras

Use up to eight analog cameras plus four IP cameras together. For an all-IP installation, connect up to eight IP cameras with the analog inputs unused.

  • Choose your recording storage

One SATA bay fits a compatible 2.5- or 3.5-inch drive up to 20 TB. Use your own drive or add the optional WD Purple 4TB; the recorder ships without a drive installed.

  • Set recording quality by camera

Share 32 Mbps of recording bandwidth across your cameras. Give more bitrate to views where detail matters most.

  • Review eight views together

Connect your monitor by HDMI or VGA for up to 1080p output. Play back the same moment on up to eight channels.

  • Power your cameras

The included adapter powers the DVR. Use a suitable camera power supply or an external PoE switch or injector for compatible IP cameras.

See the same event across a larger camera system

The ACTi YVR-121 lets you keep up to eight compatible analog cameras and add up to four IP cameras on the same recorder. For an all-IP installation, use up to eight IP cameras with the analog inputs unused. Channel licenses for both layouts are included.

Review eight camera views together

Play back up to eight recorded channels in sync on an HDMI or VGA monitor. Follow a delivery from the entrance to the loading area without having to match timestamps across separate clips. The recorder supports H.264 and H.265, with 32 Mbps of total recording bandwidth.

What’s included

One YVR-121 recorder, a USB mouse and the recorder’s power adapter. The recorder ships with one empty SATA bay. For local recording, install a compatible 2.5- or 3.5-inch drive up to 20 TB. Supply a monitor and display cable for local viewing and power your cameras separately.

Optional camera and storage — sold separately

  • WD Purple WD43PURZ 4TB Surveillance Hard Drive — Sold separately. Install this 3.5-inch SATA drive in the recorder to store footage locally, or use a compatible drive you already own.

Choose your optional camera and storage.

Connect the cameras you already use

Coax and IP together: connect up to eight compatible analog cameras to the BNC inputs and add up to four IP cameras over Ethernet. For an all-IP setup, use up to eight IP cameras with the analog inputs unused. Channel licenses for both modes are included.

Matching your cameras: use TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS for analog video. For IP video, use a compatible ONVIF Profile S camera and an H.264 or H.265 stream. Audio, events and camera controls depend on the camera model and firmware.

Set up local recording and viewing

  • Storage: disconnect power, then install one compatible SATA drive. You can use your own drive or the optional WD Purple 4TB.
  • Cameras: connect analog cameras over coax and IP cameras through your network. Supply camera power separately; use an external PoE switch or injector for compatible PoE cameras.
  • Local viewing: connect your own HDMI or VGA monitor and display cable. Use the included USB mouse to set a recording schedule and play back a clip.
  • Indoor placement: allow room around the 260 × 47 × 226 mm enclosure for cables and airflow. The operating range is 14°F–131°F with 10–90% non-condensing humidity.
  • Remote viewing: use a Windows PC with the compatible browser plug-in for your recorder firmware. Use a strong password and restrict network access.

Follow the supplied safety instructions and disconnect power before working on drives or connections. Installation labor is separate.

Find the right port

Use the rear-panel numbers to connect your equipment: 1 — eight BNC camera inputs; 2 — RCA audio in/out; 3 — VGA monitor; 4 — HDMI monitor; 5 — 10/100 Ethernet; 6 — two USB 2.0 ports; 7 — 12 V DC recorder power.

Ethernet carries network data; camera power comes from a separate source. For two-way audio, connect suitable external line-level equipment to the RCA ports.

ACTi YVR-121 rear connections: eight BNC inputs, RCA audio, VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, two USB ports and DC 12 V power
Match numbers 1–7 to the connections listed above: camera inputs, audio, monitor outputs, Ethernet, USB and recorder power.

Choose storage for the video history you need

Use one compatible 2.5- or 3.5-inch SATA drive, up to 20 TB. The optional WD Purple WD43PURZ 4TB fits the recorder’s single bay. Install the drive before recording to disk.

For a longer recording history, choose a larger compatible drive or record on a schedule. Camera count, bitrate and recording hours determine how quickly storage fills. For multiple recorders, select one new drive for each unit that needs it.

Recorder warranty and returns

The recorder carries a two-year limited hardware warranty. You can request an eligible return within 30 calendar days of delivery.

Warranty details and how to request a return
