Dedicated viewpoints
Place a fixed-view camera where an entrance, access route or work area matters most. Aim the housing during installation to establish the view.
LOREX CONNECT X SERIES
Choose your camera count. Keep recording local.
AT A GLANCE
A wired security system with X5 turret cameras in your selected color, an eight-channel XC recorder and 2 TB of local storage.
Choose white or black X5 turret cameras.
Fixed-lens views for planned camera positions.
A preinstalled 2TB hard drive in the recorder.
Power and video share each camera’s Ethernet cable.
Two-way talk, warning lights and a siren.
Camera Ethernet cables are sold separately.
The Lorex Connect X Series wired security system combines X5 4K PoE turret cameras with an XC eight-channel network video recorder and a preinstalled 2TB hard drive. Choose 2, 4, 6 or 8 cameras in white or black. Each configuration includes one RNE01P-82B-AB1 recorder and the selected number of X5 turret cameras in the chosen color.
The fixed-lens cameras support 4K recording at up to 30 frames per second, color night imaging, infrared night vision, person and vehicle detection, two-way talk, and light and siren deterrence. Color night performance depends on available light; infrared mode provides black-and-white imaging when needed. Camera positioning is adjusted during installation; these are not motorized pan-tilt-zoom cameras.
Ethernet carries camera power and video to the recorder through PoE. The recorder supports continuous local recording and eight camera channels. Its single SATA drive bay supports replacing the installed drive with a compatible drive up to 12TB. Camera Ethernet cables are sold separately. The cameras are IP66-rated; a sheltered mounting location is recommended. Remote viewing and alerts use Lorex Connect and require a wired NVR-to-router connection and suitable internet access. Additional camera or third-party integrations require model-specific compatibility verification.

WHY CHOOSE THIS SYSTEM
Choose camera positions first, then match the configuration to the places you want to observe.
Place a fixed-view camera where an entrance, access route or work area matters most. Aim the housing during installation to establish the view.
Bring the camera feeds into the XC recorder for local playback and event searches.
Every configuration uses the same eight-channel recorder. Choose fewer cameras for your initial positions or eight cameras to use all eight channels.
PLACES TO PLAN FOR
These are placement ideas. The right layout depends on sightlines, mounting positions and lighting at your property.

HOME
Consider the front entrance, driveway approach and side access as separate viewpoints. Check the angle and backlighting at each location before deciding how many cameras you need.

BUSINESS
Plan views of customer entrances, delivery doors or stock areas. Position cameras around the activity you want to review while considering privacy and access to cabling.
HOW IT CONNECTS
The standard setup connects the cameras directly to the recorder’s built-in PoE ports. Remote viewing adds a separate connection to your network.
Aim the turret housing at installation. The lens stays fixed during use; two-way talk and deterrence controls work from this same camera.
Color Night IQ+ uses available ambient light for color images. When conditions require it, the camera can switch to infrared black-and-white viewing. Lighting and placement affect the detail you can see.
Person and vehicle detection can help focus event review. Compatible settings also include intrusion, loitering and line-crossing rules; configure them for the camera position and activity you want to monitor.
Use the built-in microphone and speaker for two-way talk. Warning lights, a siren and prerecorded messages provide additional response options, with event actions configured through compatible recorder settings.
INSTALLATION & BUYING GUIDANCE
A little planning helps you choose the camera count and prepare a practical wired installation.
PLAN THE WIRED CONNECTIONS
Choose the camera positions first, then measure suitable Ethernet routes to a ventilated indoor recorder location. This connection sketch explains the planning sequence; it does not represent a property layout or guarantee coverage.
Check entrances, obstructions and strong backlighting. These fixed-lens cameras are aimed during installation; they do not physically pan or follow a moving person.
Plan a suitable Ethernet run from each camera to the NVR. Camera cables are sold separately. Use the supplied weather-resistant cable gland and protect outdoor connections as directed in the camera guide.
The IP66-rated cameras are intended for indoor or outdoor use; sheltered positions are recommended. Keep the recorder indoors with ventilation and access to power and your viewing connections.
Check framing in daytime and darkness, confirm recording and playback, and adjust detection areas before finishing the installation.
CHOOSE YOUR CAMERA COUNT
List the places that need their own view, then check whether the proposed positions actually see them. These examples are planning suggestions, not coverage guarantees.
Start with two priority viewpoints, such as a main entrance and a separate access point.
Plan four distinct positions when several entrances or approaches each need their own view.
Choose six positions when the layout has more separate areas to observe; verify cable routes to every location.
Choose eight positions to use all eight recorder channels. This does not increase the recorder beyond eight channels.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Choose white or black cameras and a count of 2, 4, 6 or 8. Every configuration includes the same eight-channel XC recorder and 2 TB of installed storage.
INCLUDED
Every configuration includes one recorder with 2 TB storage, the selected camera count and color, and the accessories listed below.
RNE01P-82B-AB1 with the hard drive preinstalled.
Your selected configuration includes 2, 4, 6 or 8 X5 turret cameras in white or black.
Power adapter and cable, HDMI cable and USB mouse.
Mounting hardware and weather-resistant RJ45 cable glands for the camera connections.
PLAN SEPARATELY
Prepare the installation essentials and choose optional additions only when they fit your needs.
Choose suitable cable runs for the camera positions and installation environment.
Have a compatible HDMI or VGA display available. A 4K display is needed to view 4K output.
Remote viewing requires a wired NVR-to-router connection and suitable internet service.
A compatible surveillance HDD can replace the installed drive, up to the recorder’s 12TB total limit. Specific add-on models require compatibility checking.
An optional microSD card up to 1TB records independently in the camera and is accessed through its web browser. It does not transfer recordings to the NVR, cloud or app.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
A few practical boundaries to check before ordering.
The NVR records locally to its hard drive. Internet and a wired router connection are needed for remote viewing through Lorex Connect; local recording does not require a recording subscription.
Plan a suitable Ethernet cable run from each fixed camera position to the recorder. PoE carries camera power and video over that cable, and camera Ethernet cables are sold separately. Check mounting surfaces, weather protection and the indoor recorder location before ordering.
No. These X5 turret cameras have fixed lenses and manually adjustable housings. Detection features do not turn them into motorized pan-tilt-zoom cameras.
No. Color night imaging depends on available light. Infrared mode provides black-and-white images when needed; its rated reach is up to 98 ft (30 m) under suitable conditions, not a guarantee of identifying a person at that distance.
The cameras are IP66-rated for indoor or outdoor use, with sheltered mounting recommended. Protect outdoor cable connections as directed in the camera guide. The recorder belongs indoors in a ventilated location; an IP66 camera rating does not apply to the recorder.
Check the exact camera model and required functions before adding it. The recorder has eight total channels; ONVIF or RTSP support does not guarantee that every third-party feature will work.
Audio recording is disabled by default. Review the audio settings and applicable requirements for your installation before enabling recording.
