The Lorex Connect V Series security system combines an RN301A-81W-AB1 8-channel wired network video recorder with V5 4K PoE bullet cameras. Configurations offer 2, 4, 6 or 8 cameras in white or black; the selected configuration determines the included camera count and colour.
The recorder includes 1TB of local storage and one drive bay supporting up to 10TB. It supports continuous, motion detection and AI motion detection recording, Smart Search, H.264/H.265 compression and USB backup. Recording retention varies with resolution, quality, lighting, movement and settings.
The V5 cameras provide smart security lighting, smart motion detection, active deterrence, AI Color Night Vision and two-way audio, with an IP67 weatherproof rating. The recorder has eight PoE camera inputs and HDMI and VGA display outputs. Maximum HDMI display resolution is 3840 × 2160; displayed image quality depends on the connected camera and screen.
The system works with Lorex Connect on iOS and Android. Remote access requires high-speed Internet and a wired connection from the recorder to a router, which is not included. Lorex recommends at least 6Mbps upload speed. Local recording has no required monthly fee.
The package includes the recorder, the selected cameras, recorder network cable, HDMI cable, USB mouse, power adapter, camera mounting hardware and weather-resistant caps. Camera Ethernet cables are sold separately. The recorder uses a fanless design and measures 12.24 × 7.57 × 1.91in (310.90 × 192.28 × 48.51mm). Its operating temperature range is 14°F to 131°F (-10°C to 55°C). Check exact model compatibility before adding other cameras.

The V5 cameras are rated IP67 for indoor or outdoor use and operate from -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). They are not intended for submersion; sheltered installation is recommended. Follow the manufacturer’s mounting instructions and protect cable connections.

AI Color Night Vision
Color nighttime video can switch to black-and-white infrared when ambient light is insufficient. Infrared night vision reaches up to 82ft (25m) in total darkness; actual range and clarity depend on placement, the viewing area and light reflection. Assess the scene after dark before final mounting.
