WHY THIS KIT

Two views working together—not one lens choosing what to miss

The S4 architecture keeps a fixed wide view for orientation while its PTZ lenses investigate detail. For a buyer, that means a clearer sense of both what is happening and where it is happening.

See the scene without losing the detail

The fixed wide view preserves orientation while the PTZ lenses follow a subject, helping you understand movement without giving up the wider context.

Use two placements to cover different approaches

A two-camera kit lets you separate entrance, driveway, yard, or corner coverage instead of asking one viewpoint to solve every blind angle.

Build around local storage and included intelligence

Each camera records locally, and the included HomeBase S380 adds storage and HomeBase-assisted features. Core local recording and on-device features do not require a monthly plan; optional cloud services may cost extra.

PROPERTY FIT

Where this wireless two-camera kit earns its place

A useful camera plan starts with the approach path, signal quality, sunlight, and the level of recording continuity you actually need.

eufyCam S4 mounted at a modern front entrance and driveway approach
Strong fit

Front entrance + driveway

The challenge
People and vehicles can enter from different directions, making one moving viewpoint easy to pull away from the wider scene.
Why it may fit
A fixed contextual view and PTZ detail can work together while the second camera covers another approach.
Verify first
Test signal and aim for subjects to approach across—not directly beneath—the sensing area.
eufyCam S4 and solar panel mounted beside a home entrance at night
Strong fit

Front yard or property corner

The challenge
A corner often needs broad awareness plus detail from more than one direction.
Why it may fit
The wide fixed lens maintains context while PTZ tracking examines movement; the second camera can close a separate approach gap.
Verify first
Map both sightlines before mounting so the second camera closes a real approach gap instead of duplicating the first view.
eufyCam S4 mounted on a modern side-yard property corner
Strong fit

L-shaped home or side yard

The challenge
Building geometry creates turns and narrow paths that one straight-ahead view may miss.
Why it may fit
Two wireless placements can divide the long and turning approaches without requiring camera Ethernet runs.
Verify first
Confirm 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or HomeBase signal through exterior walls before drilling.
Courier approaching a front door beneath a mounted eufyCam S4 and solar panel
Good fit

Delivery approach

The challenge
The useful view is the person's approach and activity near the entrance, not simply the doorway.
Why it may fit
Human detection, wide context, PTZ detail, night monitoring, and two-way audio can support approach awareness.
Verify first
Human, vehicle and pet detection helps you follow activity around an entrance.
eufyCam S4 and solar panel installed on a detached garage
Conditional fit

Detached garage or outbuilding

The challenge
Distance, walls, and inconsistent sunlight can undermine a convenient wireless placement.
Why it may fit
Wireless operation and a detachable panel may reduce cabling when the site conditions cooperate.
Verify first
Verify signal at the exact mounting point and confirm a shade-free solar-panel position before treating the location as suitable.
eufyCam S4 mounted beneath a small storefront entrance canopy
Conditional fit

Small storefront or light-duty office exterior

The challenge
A small business may want flexible exterior awareness without a full wired build.
Why it may fit
Two cameras, local storage, HomeBase-assisted intelligence, audio, and deterrence can suit light-duty exterior monitoring.
Verify first
Choose a wired PoE/NVR design instead when continuous, engineered, many-camera, or mission-critical coverage is required.

FEATURES IN PRACTICE

Capability is useful only when it solves a real monitoring problem

These are the capabilities most likely to change how the system performs day to day, explained with their practical value and important dependencies.

Illustration of responsive framing around several supported subjects

AUTO-FRAMING

Keep multiple subjects in a useful frame

Auto-framing can account for up to five targets and prioritizes people, then vehicles, then pets when several supported target types are present.

Requires or note: Performance depends on positioning, view, distance, and environmental conditions.

Illustration of supported person, vehicle, and pet detection categories

ON-DEVICE DETECTION

Focus alerts on common outdoor movement

Human, vehicle, and pet detection helps distinguish useful activity categories without treating every motion event as the same.

Requires or note: Configure human, vehicle and pet detection for the areas you monitor.

Illustration of two cameras linked to HomeBase S380

HOMEBASE INTELLIGENCE

Add face and stranger context

The included HomeBase S380 adds BionicMind face/stranger recognition, cross-camera tracking, and applicable 24/7 snapshot functions.

Requires or note: HomeBase S380 and supported configuration are required for these HomeBase-assisted capabilities.

Illustration of color and infrared night monitoring options

AFTER DARK

Choose color or infrared night monitoring

Use the spotlight for color night viewing or 850 nm infrared for discreet black-and-white viewing up to 32.8 ft / 10 m under suitable conditions.

Requires or note: Night results depend on placement, ambient light, obstructions, and scene reflectivity.

Illustration of two-way audio and configurable deterrence

COMMUNICATE + DETER

Respond from the same system

Full-duplex two-way audio supports conversation, while red/blue warning lights and a 105 dB siren measured at 0.1 m provide configurable deterrence tools.

Requires or note: No deterrence feature prevents theft or crime, and the siren figure depends on the stated measurement distance.

Illustration of masked privacy zones within a monitored scene

PRIVACY CONTROL

Exclude sensitive areas from the view

Dynamic privacy zones can mask up to four areas per view, supporting more deliberate monitoring around neighboring or private spaces.

Requires or note: Mechanical movement, mounting changes, or calibration drift can require the zones to be checked and adjusted again.

HOW THE SYSTEM SEES

A fixed overview hands detail work to two PTZ lenses

Think of each camera as a lookout and an investigator sharing the same position: one preserves the map of the scene while the moving lenses examine action.

Diagram of one fixed 4K overview lens and two 2K PTZ detail lenses
  1. Keep the whole approach in view

The fixed 3840 × 2160 wide-angle view maintains broad context rather than turning away to follow one subject.

  2. Investigate with dual PTZ lenses

The two 2688 × 1520 PTZ views can pan 360°, tilt from 0–70°, and use up to 8× hybrid zoom to examine the active part of the scene.

  3. Track while preserving orientation

Bullet-to-PTZ tracking and auto-framing follow supported subjects while the fixed view continues to show where the action sits in the broader scene.

PLAN BEFORE YOU DRILL

Placement determines more than the camera specification

A strong installation combines useful sightlines, cross-path motion, dependable signal, a stable surface, and realistic sunlight for the detachable panel.

  1. Start with a stable 7–10 ft mounting zone

Use a stable wall, ceiling, or top-mount surface at roughly 2–3 m where the camera has a useful approach view and installation can be completed safely.

  2. Favor cross-path motion over the direct-below zone

Angle the camera so subjects move across the sensing area. A subject directly beneath the unit can enter a practical PTZ blind spot.

  3. Test signal before drilling

Confirm 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or HomeBase connectivity at the exact mounting point, with doors and exterior walls in their normal state.

  4. Separate sensing distance from image detail

For placement, plan on PIR detection up to about 30 ft and radar detection up to about 40 ft. The 164 ft / 50 m detail-and-tracking figure is not a detection range.

  5. Give the solar panel its own sightline

Place the detachable panel toward the equator with minimal shade and a roughly 30–45° angle, then account for seasonal sun and local weather.

  6. Stay inside a safe installation boundary

Use suitable hardware for the surface, follow the Quick Start Guide and keep clear of utilities. Use a qualified installer for work at height, structural mounting or electrical work.

POWER PLANNING

Solar assists the battery; site conditions decide how much

Each camera pairs a 10,000 mAh quick-swap battery with a detachable 5.5 W SolarPlus 2.0 panel. The useful buying question is not a fixed runtime promise—it is whether your chosen location provides dependable charging conditions.

BATTERY

Plan for variable demand

Activity, settings, wireless signal, weather, temperature, and sunlight all affect runtime. The removable 10,000 mAh battery makes charging more practical, but no fixed day-or-month result is promised.

A full wired charge is approximately 6–8 hours with a compatible 5 V/2 A supply.

SOLARPLUS 2.0

Treat sunlight as a condition, not a guarantee

The detachable 5.5 W panel helps recharge each camera in direct sun. Plan for at least 1–2 hours of direct sunlight daily. About one hour can be enough only in optimal conditions; if the camera uses more power than the panel produces, the battery level will fall.

Shade, season, panel angle, weather, temperature, activity, settings, and signal can change the result; solar does not mean perpetual or maintenance-free power.

SPECIALIST CHECK

Is this the right system for your property?

The best fit is a property that benefits from flexible wireless placement, has reliable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or HomeBase signal, and can support the sunlight or direct-power plan its recording goals require.

VERIFY FIRST

Signal at the exact mounting point

Detached structures and distant corners are conditional on dependable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or HomeBase signal through the actual walls and distance involved.

VERIFY FIRST

Sunlight or direct power for the recording goal

Solar contribution varies. Continuous recording needs direct 5 V/2 A or higher power, compatible storage, and the required software versions.

IMPORTANT LIMIT

PTZ and privacy settings need real-world checks

A direct-below blind area can affect tracking, and dynamic privacy zones may need recalibration after movement, mounting changes, or mechanical drift.

NOT THE BEST FIT

Very large or mission-critical sites

Choose a wired PoE/NVR design instead if you need engineered, many-camera continuous coverage. This wire-free solar kit is built for a different job.
