WHY THIS CAMERA
Start wide to include the approach, then narrow the optical view if one area needs more of the frame. Check autofocus and the night image at the chosen setting.
Set the zoom and autofocus during installation. The wide end takes in the approach, while the narrow end puts more of the frame on one target area.
120 dB wide dynamic range helps with bright and shaded areas. Adaptive infrared is rated up to 60 m (about 197 ft) under suitable conditions. Infrared produces black-and-white video in darkness. Provide suitable scene lighting if you need color after dark.
Person and vehicle detection, tamper detection, object motion and line-crossing, and intrusion detection. A compatible recorder must support any events you want it to receive.
OUTDOOR APPLICATIONS
Start with the area you want to see and the equipment you already own.

POWER, NETWORK AND RECORDING
Run Ethernet to the camera, choose power, then confirm where video will be recorded and how you will review it.
Choose from H.265, H.264, and MJPEG. The camera supports simultaneous dual streams. Check which resolution, frame rate, and format your recorder can save.
Person and vehicle detection, tamper detection, object motion and line-crossing, and intrusion detection. Test which events your receiving system can record or notify on.
The built-in microphone supplies G.711 audio to a compatible system. Enable it only where appropriate for your site.
Use a strong password and HTTPS where supported by your setup. Plan user access and test any privacy masks before recording.
INSTALLATION GUIDANCE
Choose the scene, mounting surface and cable path before drilling. Allow room for the connectors and protect the outdoor cable connection.
Set the zoom and autofocus during installation. The wide end takes in the approach, while the narrow end puts more of the frame on one target area. Avoid obstructions and verify the area during daylight and after dark.
Use an IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector, or a suitable 12V DC source with Ethernet. The camera is rated at 7 W over PoE. Keep connectors accessible for installation and service.
The camera supports ONVIF Profiles S, G, and T. Verify the recorder’s supported profile, stream format, resolution, audio and event functions before installation. Test day and night recordings before leaving the site.
PUT IT TO WORK
Check your site and existing equipment before buying mounting parts or storage.
Check available camera channels and confirm your recorder can accept the camera’s stream settings. Test playback on the recorder you intend to use.
Plan camera power, a compatible recorder or VMS, and storage before choosing retention settings.
Adaptive infrared is rated up to 60 m (about 197 ft) under suitable conditions. Infrared produces black-and-white video in darkness. Provide suitable scene lighting if you need color after dark. Keep the illuminators clear of nearby reflective surfaces and protect exposed connections.

Plan the 103.6°–33.4° horizontal coverage and check the camera-body dimensions to allow enough room at the mounting point.
Conceptual top views. Visible detail depends on mounting position, subject distance and lighting.
Allow additional space for mounts, connectors and cable bends. Check the mounting surface and hardware instructions before drilling.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Check the lens, available resolution, power and operating limits for the exact Z412 offered here. Allow space beyond the camera body for the mount, connectors and cable bends.
