Important Customer Disclosures
- Initial Ethernet setup is required. The current US kit page does not clearly promise that Ethernet can be removed afterward.
- The doorbell can operate without the Home Hub. The hub adds centralized encrypted storage, chime/alarm functions, management, and the manufacturer’s low-power-link benefit.
- No memory card is included. Local recording requires a compatible microSD card in the doorbell or Home Hub.
- Cloud is optional and region-dependent. Rich notifications require a Reolink Cloud subscription; availability and pricing can vary.
- Core local operation is not presented as requiring a monthly storage fee. Optional cloud services can cost extra.
- Battery runtime is not guaranteed. Reolink markets up to six months with the Home Hub, but settings, activity, connection, and temperature materially affect runtime.
- Hardwiring has electrical limits. Use 8–24 V AC or 24 V DC and follow the stated 5 VA–40 VA AC requirement.
- The Home Hub is indoor equipment. Only the doorbell carries the IP65 rating.
- Compatibility varies. Home Hub support depends on camera model, hardware, and firmware. Check Reolink’s current matrix before adding another camera.
- Storage is finite. Retention depends on card capacity, camera count, bitrate, event frequency, and recording duration.
- Manufacturer and ClearVero™ warranties are separate. Reolink eligibility and remedies are governed by Reolink terms.
- No professional installation is included. Installation accessories and guides are included, but installation service is not.
Frequently asked questions
What to know before setup
Does the doorbell work without the Home Hub?
Yes. It supports standalone dual-band Wi-Fi and its own microSD storage. The Home Hub adds centralized encrypted storage, indoor chime/alarm functions, device management, and a low-power connection benefit.
Does the Home Hub need Ethernet?
Ethernet is required for initial setup. Connect the hub to your router and keep your phone on the same network during initialization. ClearVero™ does not promise that Ethernet can be removed afterward for this exact hardware and firmware.
Is a microSD card included?
No. This is the verified no-card configuration. The doorbell supports up to 256 GB, while the Home Hub supports up to 1 TB in each of two slots.
Does the Home Hub act as a chime?
Yes. Its built-in speaker provides indoor doorbell alerts and alarm-center functions. A separate plug-in Reolink Chime is not listed in the box.
Can I use existing doorbell wiring?
The doorbell supports 8–24 V AC or 24 V DC input. Reolink also states 5 VA–40 VA for compatible AC wiring. Follow Reolink instructions and local electrical requirements.
How long does the battery last?
Reolink markets up to five months standalone and up to six months with the Home Hub. Actual runtime can vary materially with settings, activity, recording time, connection, temperature, and environment.
Do I need a subscription?
Live view, local recording, two-way audio, and local smart detection are not presented as requiring a recurring plan. Optional Reolink Cloud is region-dependent, and rich notifications require a cloud subscription.
Which cameras work with the Home Hub?
The hub supports up to eight compatible Reolink cameras. Compatibility is model-, hardware-, and firmware-dependent, so check Reolink’s current compatibility matrix before adding another camera.
Does it work with Alexa and Google Assistant?
Yes. The included doorbell supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant where the relevant Reolink integration is available.
What ClearVero™ coverage is included?
The purchase includes a 1-Year ClearVero™ Product Warranty, 1-Year ClearVero™ Dedicated Customer Support, and a 30-Day Return-Request Period, subject to the applicable ClearVero™ policies.
